Gemma and Bryan’s Wedding
Monday, July 25th, 2016
Our bride Gemma and her groom Bryan created a personal and heart warming day wedding day, which they celebrated in style with close family and friends. The wedding took place on the 21st May 2016 at the gorgeous Saltmarshe Hall. Gemma’s bridal look was the epitome of timeless elegance and made for a tearful entrance to the ceremony.
Gemma styled the venue herself using a white, gold and black colour pallet, giving some contemporary glamour to the venue which blended effortlessly throughout the whole day. Gemma’s bridesmaids radiated in head-to-toe gold sequinned dresses complimenting her Caroline Castigliano gown perfectly. There was a show stopping metallic cake from the wonderful team at Blossom Tree Cake Company and the most beautiful floral arrangements in crisp White’s.
The wedding photographs taken by the very talented Photography34 really give us an essence of just how wonderful this celebration was. We are so very excited to share with you Gemma and Bryan’s gloriously happy wedding day.
As soon as we drove up the sweeping driveway into Saltmarshe Hall we knew it was a contender but then walking into the hallway we were instantly sold! The Morning Room is such a beautiful room, we instantly saw ourselves holding our ceremony there. In fact, we loved the room so much that we used it for our ceremony, wedding breakfast and disco.
The Hall is very impressive but with a modern and intimate atmosphere, which was exactly what we were looking for. We also loved the fact that we had to source all our own suppliers and so could make our day totally personal.
We didn’t have a specific theme in mind at first, although we knew we wanted it to be elegant and classic. Then I fell in love with our bridesmaids dresses and they created our theme. We didn’t want to go all out on a gold theme and so decided upon black and gold, a classic colour scheme. I knew I wanted all white flowers and so this worked perfectly
I actually only bought 3 wedding magazines! We wanted our day to be full of everything we love. We are big foodies and knew straight away that we wanted good food and wine, good music and our favourite people to share it with. Most of my styling came from myself, a few hair and make up ideas from Pinterest but that was it!
I knew exactly the style of dress I wanted, however it is worth trying on every style because I loved trying on a princess dress and I was surprised how much it did suit me. On the other hand, I love Jenny Packham and was keen to try on some of her creations but they didn’t suit me at all! Go for a shape that flatters you and makes you feel a million dollars!
I found The Bridal Collection by searching for Caroline Castigliano stockists so I already had my eye on her designs. We found the showstopper fishtail dress and as I was putting it on I knew it was special. It felt so well made and the detailing was incredible. When Arnya pulled back the curtain to show my mum she instantly burst into tears and that set me off!
The Bridal Collection were fabulous! My first dress shopping experience wasn’t particularly nice. We were left waiting, rushed into ‘one last dress’ as my appointment time was nearly up and the changing room was tiny. From the moment we stepped into The Bridal Collection we were welcomed, offered a drink and Arnya took time to discuss what I was looking for, she helped me style the dress with the veil and belt that I ended up ordering. She didn’t rush us into a decision after the tears, and gave me time to try on other dresses just to make sure it was the one. The boutique itself is beautiful and the dressing area in the front room is gorgeous. I felt so special when the curtain was pulled back each time I had my dress on. I loved wearing my dress, I really did feel a million dollars.
It was all so magical it’s difficult to pinpoint one part. However, I’ll never forget my dad driving me to the ceremony in his own car, just me and him, and then him walking me down the aisle to Bryan. As soon I saw Bryan we both burst into tears and apparently seeing Bryan cry set all our guests off crying too!
Enjoy every single second of the planning and lead up to your wedding as well as the day itself. It goes so quickly, I wish I could rewind do it all again! If you do one thing and one thing only, ensure you have reputable suppliers. It will make the planning process so much smoother!
