Rebecca and Chris’s Wedding
Friday, April 28th, 2017
Yes it is April and we should be talking about all things Spring but we just couldn’t resist throwing it back to this winter wonderland wedding today. Our bride Rebecca and her husband Chris married on 22 December 2016 at the charming and homely Ellingham Hall. Rebecca looked stunning in her gown, Heather by Suzanne Neville. Rebecca chose a classic and romantic bridal and styled her bridal look up with a fur shrug for those beautiful outside photographs and a sparkling belt for the evening celebrations.
Feast your eyes upon these stunning images by Suzy Mitchell which really share with us the incredibly cosy, warm and happy atmosphere that Rebecca and Chris created. Congratulations to the beautiful newlyweds!
Ellingham Hall is a beautiful stately home set in the county of Northumberland. It had all the feeling of a cosy country house, decorated ready for Christmas with open fires and Christmas trees in the main rooms. One of the great things about the house was we were able to treat it like our home – taking over the whole house allowed us to spend lots of time with the people that we love dearly and meant we were able to enjoy two days of celebration!
I was keen to stay away from the traditional red and green theme. I wanted the atmosphere to be all about warmth and glow. With it being cold outside (very very cold) it was important to us that inside there was a warm buzz. We had an abundance of candles and flowers throughout the house, which helped create a cosy and romantic atmosphere. I didn’t follow any one website as such, I took inspiration from wherever I could get it. Etsy and Pinterest were useful but so were Google Images!
The dress was classic and dreamy. It had a delicate lace trim on the top, with a simple ribbon at the waste and a frothy, organza silk skirt. It was perfect, so elegant, light and beautiful. For the evening I accessorized the dress with a diamanté encrusted belt (called “the Rebecca” (!)) which perfected the evening look with a little sparkle but without being too overkill. I adored the whole look.
The Bridal Collection, Harrogate is in a league of its own. The team helped me find the perfect dress and made the experience just like you dream of. The bridal dress room was quality and pristine, the staff genuine and enthusiastic. Visiting the boutique was easily of one of the most enjoyable experiences of the entire process. It was a very special experience. From opening the front door of the shop it felt exclusive, stylish and like you were about to embark on a considered and beautiful journey. It was not rushed and I felt like I was the only bride to be in the room. It was perfect.
I felt lucky and relieved to have found “the one”. I had had mild experiences in a few shops where I had thought “this might be it, this is probably it, I think this is it” but I knew when I looked in the mirror that nothing else was ever going to compare. It was great to have that comfort also that I knew I wouldn’t see something later down the line that I preferred!
With the first dress shopping experience be open minded to all styles – start wide then narrow down. Also, don’t settle. I never imagined I could feel as amazing as I did on my wedding day and this was down to the dress (and fab stylists of course!).
Walking down the aisle and seeing Chris’ face as I joined him. I could not stop smiling. I always thought I would be in floods of tears on my wedding day but the overwhelming happiness that I felt overcame the emotion. It was the best day of my life and I love that I can say that with my hand on my heart.
